Open Movements, Woven Moments

A public drawing/movement project led by interdisciplinary artist, Raina McDonald, with supporting dance collaborators Nancy Hanlon and Oso Suave (Roberto Rivera) and the community that formed around them.  Watch the video below documenting the process.

This project unfolded over four hours outside of the People’s Place Library, Antigonish, NS, Canada as the sun set and into the night on September 26, 2014. The invitation read:
“Come play in the here and now, where curiosities emerge, new choices present and possibilities awaken beyond habits of body and mind. An invitation to arrive in the moment, present in your body, leaving marks as you go. Elements of free-flowing movement, spontaneous drawing, collaborative performance and live feed video projection will weave an experiential extravaganza.”

Fellow artists, family, friends, festival-goers and passer-byers joined in and/or watched as drawing accumulated beneath us with each movement made.

“Open Movements, Woven Moments” was part of Antigonight curated arts festival.
